Hello members of RustyCon!
RustyCon is coming up January 13 – 15, 2017. I wanted to get a progress report out to our members to let everyone know what we have coming up at this year’s convention.
Our theme this year is ‘A Gathering of Guilds’. We will be working this theme into a majority of our paneling tracks and other events throughout the convention. We will continue to explore the themes of fantasy, science fact, and science fiction using the arts as well as the written word. So what guild will you be representing; Dragon Riders’, Assassins’, Bardic, Magicians’, Artisans’, Alchemists’, Scribes’, and Adventurer’s, or a combination thereof?
This year there will be a kids’ dance Friday, the Cosplay-Masquerade followed by an all ages dance on Saturday. There will also be Gaming, with companies and stores preparing to demo favorites as well as new games all weekend.
We will have our wonderful Art Show, filled with amazing and talented artists from around our area. We will also have our awesome Marketplace, with booksellers, blade makers, woodworkers, and more!
Our Guests of Honor this year are:
Writer Guest of Honor
Cosplay Guest of Honor
Bill Doran of Punished Props
Artist Guest of Honor
Our website now has the list of attending panelists who will be giving readings, workshops, and panels. Please check out who is coming this year.
We also have the DragonDyne/ DragonStorm party hosted by the Manzala Rangers and the Return of Biohazard who will be attending RustyCon this year to heighten the evening festivities on Friday and Saturday nights. (You should think about getting a room.) We are looking forward to an epic battle for the best festivities trophy between three time champion Manzala Rangers, and title holder Biohazard. There might even be an upset with someone else taking the trophy.
RustyCon has come home and will once again be at the SeaTac Marriott! Rooms are $115.00 a night and parking will be $10.00 a night per car, billed to your room. The Marriott has also promised that they will have a convention menu in the dining room with reasonable prices. Visit the RustyCon website and get your hotel reservation in before we sell out of our room block.
RustyCon memberships are currently at $50. There will be 2 more price increases happening between now and the convention, so get your membership early to save!
Make your plans for RustyCon 34 soon! We can’t wait to show you what we have in store for you this year!
